Tiki Island 3 was the third annual international exhibition organized by Nick Camara of Tiki Magazine and Hodadhank of Freaky Boutiki Gallery. Notable for being the first US gallery showing for renowned carver Paipo of New Zealand.
TIKOT! Visions From The Tiki Tarot featured work by 22 of the genre’s greatest artists, paired with cards drawn at random from the Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot Deck. The costumed opening reception, held on Halloween featured vintage horror films and spooky tunes by DJ Shuffle-Bot.

Beyond The Reef was the first time a Tiki Island group show contained a thematic guideline. Allowing participating artists to stretch the theme as they wished so long as it related to the narrative phrase. The resulting broad variety of interpretations often veering wildly from island subject matter this was the gallery’s most surprising and diverse offering to date.
